Non ci sono molte info su questa uscita , al momento .
Tutto quello che ho trovato l'ho scritto col link di riferimento.
Anche sulla data di uscita ci sono versioni contrastanti : comunque , la pubblicazione avverrà nel mese d'ottobre.

 

Un'altra uscita a nome Rush per questo mese .

A fine ottobre uscirà " Chemistry" , libro-biografia scritto da J.Collins.
Il libro tratta la storia della band dalle origini ad oggi , includendo anche i progetti paralleli e altre attività, attraverso interviste ai 3 Rush e a tutti coloro che hanno lavorato col gruppo.

Uscirà in Usa e Canada : speriamo in una pubblicazione in Italia , ma dubito , visto anche che le alte pubblicazioni sui Rush o i libri di Peart non sono mai stati tradotti in italiano.
Si potrà trovare , per chi interessa , sul sito ufficiale , su amazon o d'importazione.......

 

Sono stati resi noti i dettagli del R30 dvd in uscita a novembre.

La versione deluxe comterrà anche i cd del concerto , non venduti separatamente.
Mi lascia un pò perplesso il fatto che non sia stato proposto il concerto intero.
E' vero che i brani lasciati fuori come yyz , bravado , by tor o la villa erano presenti anche in Rush in Rio , ma mi sembra un scelta opinabile.
Nel complesso , comunque , un acquisto obbligato per i fan del trio

 

Un altro nuovo libro per il 2006 è già in cantiere...

Rush plans a new Book for 2006

As reported at All Headline News, Rush plans to announce "...a new official book to add to their list of items being released during the next year. The book will consist of every tour book the band has ever had and combine them all for one large historic pictorial of the group's 31-year history.The book is currently under construction but is likely to hit stores by January 2006."​

 

Grandiosi!

Il primo album comprato è "Grace Under Pressure".
"Red Lanses" e " Red Sector A" sono tracce da me consumate. Ma il campo musicale dei Rush è vasto e molto bello. Ricordo di aver comprato successivamente altri capolavori. Come sempre " Buona e bella musica" per le mie orecchie.

Hai citato 2 brani bellissimi ma tutto GUP è meraviglioso .Un album in cui il trio riesce ad esprimere perfettamente nei testi e nella musica alcuni temi importanti ( guerra fredda , ambiente od olocausto ) e a trasmettere a chi ascolta un senso d'inquietudine già dalla copertina.Capolavoro

 

Diciamo che le prime quattro sono PERFETTE! L’unica che nn mi convince in toto è The Body Electric…per il resto Grace è veramente un disco perfetto e meravigliosamente “freddo e tecnologico”…ad esempio Power Windows è un album che trovo più “ottimista”…Grace è cupo…esprime disagio.

 

Sono finalmente giunto ad una conclusione…l’album più bruttino dei Rush per me è Caress Of Steel…si sente che i Rush non avevano proprio le idee chiare e non sapevano che strada intraprendere…in più c’è una certa prolissità ridondante e nn funzionale alle song…a mio modo di vedere meglio Presto (che viene spesso additato come il punto più basso della loro carriera.

 

Scusate la domanda ma forse mi potete aiutare, o almeno i fans e collezionisti della band, ho trovato nella mia raccolta di dischi (tra quelli che mi furono regalati da un mio e xcollega) un EP dei Rush: The Big Money (1985) nel lato A ha l'omonima canzone + Territories (prodotte da Peter Collins), nel lato B Red Sector A (live), prodotta da Terry Brown.
Avrei una mezza idea di venderlo ma non so il suo vero valore etc, le condizioni sono quasi perfette

Si tratta di un EP non particolarmente raro : per intenderci , nelle fiere o nei mercatini del vinile si può trovare spesso .Non so quantificarlo ma io l'ho sempre trovato a prezzi abordabili ( col vecchio conio lo trovavo a 20-25.000 mila lire )Prova a metterlo su ebay.....

Geddy Lee Discussess R30 DVD And Next Studio Album: "'Well, basically nobody was in a big hurry to do another live project, because we've got about 60,000 of them out there,' singer/bassist Geddy Lee tells Billboard.com's Greg Prato with a laugh. 'But when we were touring Europe on the last tour, we hadn't been to those countries in 10 years - some of them 20 years. And there was such an exuberant response from the crowd; it just seemed like a unique opportunity to capture the band in that kind of environment. The venue is very old,' Lee continues. 'We've played there a couple of times. It's always a strange atmosphere for North Americans to come over there and play in one of these buildings that Hitler used to do speeches in and so forth. So it's always got kind of an ominous vibe for us. But the crowd is always great and a lot of fans hadn't seen us in a long time.'...As for the vintage footage, Lee attributes the discovery of some it to his brother, who works in the film business. 'He took it upon himself to get involved in our vault and see what the hell was lying around down there, and he discovered some of these old things that we had forgotten about,' Lee says, adding that some of the clips 'are kind of painful to watch [laughs]! Bad hair, bad glasses. You just kind of look in wonderment like, "Is that really me?" And you really feel how much you've changed since that time.' Meanwhile, Rush is gearing up for a new album, the follow-up to 2002's Vapor Trails. 'We're just at the stage now where we're getting ourselves ready to do some writing,' Lee reports. So that will take place over the next six to eight months probably, and we'll gather some material together into a record.'" - Billboard.com, Oct. 12, 2005
Producer Sheds Light On Working With Rush: "...producer and director Pierre Lamoureux...is responsible for the huge undertaking of not only the R:30 package but the DVD releases of Exit Stage Left..., Grace Under Pressure Tour - 1984, and A Show of Hands all of which are being released in 2006 in both a special box set and individual package. 'There is a lot of work that has gone on with the band over the last year,' Lamoureux says...'We have the entire Rush catalog in our hands. Not just the studio material they have released on albums, but every single demo or song that has not been released as well. We are setting Rush up for the future for releases that will be able to have 5.1 audio mixes along with SACD formats down the road....I can't get into every detail about the band's business and future but I can assure you the concerts that we are re-releasing are not straight VHS to DVD transfers. These are color touched, remastered, and re-mixed in 5.1 stereo and we are deciding which extras we will add to each in the coming days. We are basically done with everything except the extras and that decision lies with the band...'I approached the band's management SRO about filming Rush on their anniversary tour and they turned me down being so close to their Rush In Rio project. As the tour went on they decided it would be a great idea but it was too late to film Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks although we talked about it, we just couldn't get crews into the cities at the right time.'" - All Headline News, Oct. 12, 2005

 

Guarda, a me ultimamente l'unica cosa che piace davvero di "Caress Of Steel" è la copertina! :-D
Come dici tu è un album di transizione, in cui i nostri sembrano non aver ancora chiara la strada da seguire... Concordo anche sulla lunghezza eccessiva dei brani finali; gli altri li considero "normali", per una band di questa caratura... Insomma, quando ho voglia di ascoltare i Rush, raramente scelgo questo disco
