Sonata Arctica

Ormai sono come i Metallica: hanno una fama così pessima che i giudizi al ribasso volano con facilità. Suggerisco di ascoltare con le proprie orecchie e poi farsi un'idea.

A me le uniche canzoni che non convincono sono Paid in Full (arrangiamento troppo allegrotto per il mood del pezzo) e The Wolves Die Young (non so, un pò troppo scarica). Poi ci sono le ballad che ho nominato prima che sono inutili in quanto troppo simili all'originale, ma non certo brutte.

 

Beh però con la mole di uscite (arretrati ecc..) se tu mi dici così non mi invogli molto all'ascolto.

 

Ma infatti, non dico che sia un'uscita imperdibile, specie se non sei un fan della band. Se ti interessa solo ascoltare album ottimi, salta pure. Questo secondo me è un buon/discreto rifacimento acustico, che da fan della band si può tranquillamente ascoltare e apprezzare, ma non un album che consiglierei a chiunque.

"My Father's Son" includes guest lead vocals from Björn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius), Anette Olzon (The Dark Element), Renan Zonta (Electric Mob), Pekka Heino (Brother Firetribe), and Antti Railio (Celesty, Diecell). Liimatainen even takes on lead vocal duties himself, as well. Additionally, bassist Jonas Kuhlberg (One Desire), drummer Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius, Smackbound), and pianist Jarkko Lahti provide instrumentation, while Liimatainen handles guitars, keyboards, and programming. Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, Rainbow) and Janne Huttunen provide guest keyboard and saxophone solos, respectively.
