Eluveitie

merita comunque, anche se ci sono troppi pezzi e molte idee riciclate, e la stessa produzione dei precedenti, però sentiti canzoni come celtos, il canto delle montagne in tedesco o in romancio (nelle altre lingue mi piace molto meno), vianna, the nameless e from darkess un bel disco a metà, non so, 7 su 10, niente di nuovo comunque rispetto a helvetios in gran parte, ma anch'io continuo a non riuscire ad apprezzare al massimo i primissimi lavori

 

Devo dire che il canto delle montagne in Italiano non rende molto però l'intenzione non era brutta e ho apprezzato l'idea di aver rivisto questa canzone nelle 4 lingue nazionali

 

no assolutamente, per me è stata una cosa meravigliosa a dir poco.. io approvo sempre il buttar via l'inglese fino a che si può (e gli eluveitie lo fanno alla perfezione, senza fare tutto in elvetico o peggio ancora in tedesco e quindi togliersi inevitabilmente pubblico).. e è stata un'operazione bellissima, peraltro in romancio e in tedesco suona da dio quella canzone per me, ma anche in francese e italiano l'apprezzo molto anche per la volontà

 

Fare tutto in elvetico?

 

avrebbe ben poco senso, avrebbero meno visibilità e pubblico e come resa non cambierebbe granché, in elvetico è giusto che facciano 3 o 4 canzoni ad album o che magari aggiungano qualche esperimento in tedesco per cambiare dal solito inglese, anche se poi i loro album sono sempre pieni di filler quindi potrebbero gestire meglio il tutto è inevitabile che se scrivi tutto in una lingua incomprensibile poi è difficile per i fan seguirti alla perfezione, io apprezzo moltissimo chi scrive nella sua lingua come ho sempre detto ma anche chi riesce a bilanciare la sua lingua con un pubblico internazionale, come hanno fatto in pochi casi rhapsody e lacuna coil o come fanno i korpiklaani (con purtroppo alcune esagerazioni recenti)

in più gli eluveitie non sono come i rammstein che possono comunque contare sempre sul pubblico del loro paese perché l'elvetico manco loro lo parlano, invece se canti tutto in tedesco ci sono migliaia di gruppi che lo fanno e in germania austria ecc. hanno sempre un seguito straordinario, vale lo stesso per il francese

 

Ma che lingua e l'elvetico
Loro cantano in gaelico e cioè un antica lingua celtica che veniva parlata sul territorio svizzero quando era celta.
Che tra l'altro helvetios racconta di quando i romani invasero i celti che dovettero fuggire oltre il territorio svizzero, se non mi sbaglio

Che tra l'altro trovo che suona parecchio bene però è vero che nessuno capisce la lingua e ad esempio io volevo vedere la traduzione ma non le ho trovate e su Google traduttore non c'è il gaelico

 

mi sa che hai un po' di confusione a livello storico di base

da un lato grazie al cazzo che non c'è la traduzione, loro stessi dicono di inventarsi di sana pianta tutte le pronunce anche perché nessuno conosce la lingua perché si hanno solo (pochi) riscontri scritti e si parla di qualcosa di estinto da 2000 anni (lo stesso glanzmann non ne ha mai fatto mistero eh), non sappiamo nemmeno come si pronuncia correttamente il latino, figuriamoci.. e per i testi penso scrivano ancora insieme a david stipfer (cerca su google )

"elvetico" è un aggettivo che sta per "qualcosa proprio degli elvezi", che c'entra il GAELICO? il gaelico si parla nelle tre nazioni man irlanda scozia..tu volevi dire il GALLICO spero

loro hanno sempre parlato delle conquiste romane e della storia antica della svizzera (in tutti i loro dischi) anche se ovviamente non è che hanno mai fatto dei testi più di tanto profondi (mai nascosto anche questo da loro), e peraltro nessuno glielo chiede.. siccome gallico può intendere tante cose (anch'io sono nato in gallia per i romani no? ), uso elvetico per riferirmi al gallico, al celtico, parlato in elvezia, dove sono nati loro lì, so che molti usano gallico (gaulish) ma la vedo da sempre una forzatura perché gli eluveitie si sforzano comunque di rappresentare la loro terra e con gallico si può intendere tutto e niente, dalla turchia al belgio

razzialmente, penso che l'influenza celtica o gallica che dir si voglia sia comunque ancora forte nei tipi umani svizzeri, mista con quelle germaniche, anche se non sono certo un esperto di storia antica

With a heavy heart we have to announce that Eluveitie will go through another change soon.
We have decided to part ways with our longtime drummer Merlin Sutter. In the consequence of this, Merlin's close personal friends Anna Murphy and Ivo Henzi decided to leave Eluveitie as well.

We all developed a lot over the last ten years – not only as a band, but also as individuals. And we partly developed in different directions; different goals, wishes and ideas emerged. Over the last years we all had to deal with interpersonal challenges within the band. Instead of pulling together, our days have rather been shaped by wearing friction and constant clash of interests. And thus we felt that we have become something we shouldn't have; that we've diverged from what Eluveitie was always meant to be – a band, a family, a passionate and deep-rooted group of musicians, where heart's blood can flow freely! Eluveitie was always meant to be about „rock'n'roll“, passion and also about 'carrying the torch' of the Celtic spirit.
Yet over the years we have partly diverged from our roots, which is not good.

Each and every single one of us is definitely a passionate musician! But in this group constellation, we seemed to rather cumber, than to inspire each other. The band has suffered from this for a longer time now.
So we ended up in this painful situation where the mentioned facts have made it impossible to us to continue like this and we came to the point eventually, where we believe, it's best to go seperate ways.

It was a terribly hard decision to make and it hasn't been done carelessly, but with tears and a heavy heart.

We know that this is tough to handle – for everybody. And we know it sucks badly that things developed this way.
Above the fact that this is hard to handle for us personally and emotionally, we are painfully aware of how much it also must disappoint you, our fans... which makes it even harder.

We do not part from each others in hatred though.
From our hearts we wish Merlin, Anna & Ivo only the very best for their future ways and also all the best of luck and success for all their further musical projects. For we're sure their musical journey will go on and it will be great. And maybe our ways will even cross again in future, in a different way.

For us in Eluveitie this now also means a lot to deal with.
We do not want to look at it as yet another line-up change!

For us it means to seclude ourselves for a while, to take the inward turn and to recollect. We will go back to our roots and become again what we once have been.

We will still play the next couple of shows together with Merlin, Anna and Ivo. Their last performance with Eluveitie will be the FortaRock - The Festival in Nijmegen (NL) on the 5th of June. So you should grab your chance and come to one of these shows!

After that we will not leave you, our fans, hanging. We promise you to play every single show we have confirmed so far! We will perform with temporary stand-in musicians until our new line-up is ready and we promise to do everything to find the best possible session musicians we can! There won't be „replacements“ - Merlin, Anna and Ivo are unique and not „replaceable“. Yet we will come on stage with a very strong live line-up – this is a promise.

„For more than 10 years, 6 studio albums, and nearly a thousand shows in 46 countries on 6 continents, Eluveitie has been at the very centre of our lives. We've had the immense privilege to bring joy to fans from around the world, exploring a diverse range of places and cultures few ever get to experience in their lifetime.

We have now been faced with an impossible situation, and left with no choice but to announce our departure. Personal differences and decisions taken by the remaining members have made it impossible for any of us to continue. None of us wanted to leave Eluveitie, and it is important to us that you, the fans, know that disappointing you is the most difficult part in this decision. We can only hope for your understanding. Without your support we would have achieved nothing, and we are eternally grateful for it.

Chrigel Glanzmann will continue on his path just as we will on ours. Therefore, the music you love will evolve and branch out, and we encourage you to look forward to it. In the meantime, we will give it everything on stage one more time, hopefully with you, while completing the current world tour as well as our last European shows in May and early June. Our last show in Switzerland takes place in Basel on June 3rd, and our final show with Eluveitie will follow the same weekend at Fortarock Festival in Holland.

We would like to clarify that Shir-Ran Yinon, Eluveitie’s amazingly talented current (non-voting) session violin player and our good friend, has not been involved directly in these unfortunate events. She will continue to perform (and kick ass!) with Eluveitie for the Summer festivals and will then continue on to new adventures as well.

As for the three of us: our musical journey together is far from over, and we are incredibly excited to share new music with you in the future. annina mia il suo hurdy gurdy e la sua voce mi mancheranno molto, era la parte che preferivo degli elu spero che chiz prenda un altra voce femminile per affiancarlo, però nn sò... nn so che direzione prenderà la band a sto punto

 

proprio quello che non ci voleva
non seguo tanto le pagine dei gruppi quindi non so le motivazioni e era tanto tempo che non sapevo niente dal gruppo, d'altronde se non ricordo male origins è uscito due anni fa..

sinceramente hanno scritto troppo non c'ho voglia di stare a leggermi miliardi di righe di motivazioni anche perché quello che è fatto è fatto, sicuramente se il gruppo andrà avanti andrà avanti secondo la strada che glanzmann ha mantenuto da slania in poi, d'altronde quando uscì nicole hanno poi preso subito un'altra violinista femmina, prenderanno senz'altro un'altra cantante sempre femmina non solo per il repertorio ma anche perché la strada di glanzmann è chiaramente quella di un folk/death melodico accessibile catchy e in parte femminile e clean, la vedo durissima che ritornino al 100% a Spirit o comunque che mantengano solo una voce maschile.. sia in studio che live intendo

l'uscita di Sutter a mio avviso invece è ottima, specialmente se mantengono rapacchietti nel gruppo.. sutter è sempre stato per me un batterista troppo leggero e monotono, rapacchietti ha ben altro spessore (e 20 anni in più..)
l'uscita di Henzi è totalmente ininfluente: gli eluveitie (come i finntroll e mille altri) sono un gruppo da UNA chitarra, manco fanno un assolo in un intero concerto, che se ne fanno? per la musica che fanno e che faranno credo che sia completamente ininfluente chi suona chitarre e basso, diversa è leggermente la situazione per chi suona violino e batteria, diversissima per la ragazza che deve cantare (con o senza ghironda o quel che volete, potrebbero metterci una tastierista alla cradle of filth che non cambierebbe niente)

spero che mantengano la violinista ebrea di cui non ricordo il nome e il batterista, aggiungono una voce femminile e alla fine secondo me potremo anche ritrovarci ad esaltare questa scelta vista l'uniformità degli ultimi dischi..
