    Depeche Mode are set to release their 13th studio album in March 2013 on Columbia Records. “I am very happy with how the album turned out,” comments DM’s Martin Gore. “The music has a similar vibe to Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we’ve done.” The band has announced that the new album will contain brand new tracks written by Gore and Dave Gahan. Gahan reveals, “The album has a very organic and direct feel to it. It’s not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe. During the recording process we really tried to get the elements of performing and the live show into the album more.” The band gave fans a glimpse into the making of the new album in October when they released the following video clip featuring new music (Depeche Mode - In-Studio Collage 2012 - YouTube). Additional album details will be disclosed in the coming weeks.

    Following the release of their new album, Depeche Mode will embark on a European tour, kicking off in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park on May 7. They will perform 34 shows in 25 European countries, featuring appearances at the Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium, BBK Festival in Spain and Optimus Alive Festival in Portugal. The band will go on to play at Rome’s renowned Olympic Stadium, the Stade De France in Paris, and Moscow’s Locomotive Stadium before wrapping up the European leg of their tour in Minsk, Belarus on July 29. A full North American tour will follow, with details to be announced shortly.

    Ummh... Un ritorno a qualcosa di più.."Rock"?... D'altra parte sia Violator che Sofad erano i 2 dischi più orientati in "tal senso" no?... Anche se un pò "contradditoriamente" dice anche "It's no Blues recording"...mmah

    Ho il biglietto da quando è uscito per Milano a S.Siro. Manca un sacco di tempo ma non vedo l'ora. Quali sono i 5 pezzi indimenticabili che vorreste facessero in concerto? e 3 di quelli più di nicchia che vi piacerebbero?

    ..Ma sopratt. TUTTI quelli del loro periodo cosidetto "DARK" , vale a dire da Some great reward/ Blasphemous rumours (n.b. Album/Ep seguente!) a Black celebration, ma anche MFTM almeno per buona parte!..

    Al di là delle frasi da fanboy come la mia, devo dire che c'è un disco di cui ne avrei fatto volentieri a meno: Exciter. Playing the Angel non mi piace tutto, ci sono delle tracce bellissime come altre che ritengo poco incisive. A Broken Frame e Construction Time Again hanno delle belle idee ma sono lavori molto grezzi, infatti i Depeche faranno il loro salto di qualità con l'entrata ufficiale di Wilder nel gruppo, un artista, che a differenza degli altri, aveva studiato musica.

    E' in assoluto l'album piu' bello dei Depeche, creato nel periodo piu' brutto per Dave (i casini con la droga, la moglie zoccola e via dicendo) e pero' anche il periodo del Gahan piu' figo e pazzo , quello che si getta sulla folla e si spezza due costole, quello che si fa fare un piercing in una zona un tantino insolita :) e quel periodo in cui la voce di Dave e' davvero unica e irripetibile.
    Tra l'altro e' anche l'album piu' "rock" dei DM
