In arrivo* un cofanetto ("Complete execution") anche per i Blood Money, band inglese di grezzo speed-thrash che qualcuno inserisce erroneamente nella tarda NWOBHM.
Immaginate un incrocio tra Exciter e Jaguar, ma diversi pezzi sono pure più duri e vanno a parare dalle parti del thrash, specie nel secondo album, quasi in toto accostabile a quel genere (pure nel primo ci sono canzoni parecchio violente, però, tipo "Lazarus").
A me hanno sempre detto pochino ma so che hanno i loro sostenitori.
Il box consta di due CD, contenenti gli album degli anni '80 (Red, Raw and Bleeding dell'86 e Battlescarred dell'87) con l'aggiunta di bonus e demo.

* è uscito questa estate ma vedo che Amazon.it lo dà disponibile solo dal 5 gennaio, in pre-order.

Bel pezzo. Quando i gruppi speed rallentano, ogni tanto tirano fuori dei bei tempi medi.
Peccato per la voce del cantante (un Tim Baker senza sfumature), per me rovina tutto.
Perfettamente in linea con le loro radici punk, la presenza di un messaggio politico esplicito.

 

Dedicated to original ASOMVEL frontman, Jay-Jay Winter… we feel this track is our proudest achievement.

We went through the painful yet cathartic process of featuring some of Jay’s vocals at the end of the track, after the bass solo. They’re poignant, bone chilling, inspiring, and comforting all at the same time.

Ralph being able to duet with his Uncle, his main inspiration and motivating force; it was as if all of the collective pain from Jay’s passing had torn a hole in the very fabric of reality, leaving space for the almighty voice of Jay-Jay Winter to emanate from the other side, one last time.

Jay-Jay will always be with us in spirit; his attitude and ethos drive our every move, and for that we’re eternally grateful. We know that when we reach the top, Jay-Jay will be standing there beside us, worthy of it all. If not for the unwavering and relentless attitude that Jay inspired in those close to him, this band would have died along with him.

It would mean a lot if you’d go and stream it, add it to your playlists, and share it far and wide.

Band croata di Rijeka (Fiume) che ho avuto modo di apprezzare anche live anni fa e se la cavano egregiamente. Molto spartani, solo due marshall JCM800, un'altra testata+cassa per basso e tanta attitudine. Speed classico che più classico non si può. Sono a livello di demo / EP
