Lars non solo fa cagare a suonare, è pure bastardo...

 

È una storia così assurda da poter tranquillamente essere vera. Ma perché?

 

Comunque si vede che non è un desiderio solo nostro quello di sentire And Justice con il basso, questo è quello che disse Rasmussen in un'intervista (questa volta è Rasmussen non Thompson ):

What tension was there?

I never understood why the bass was never louder on the album. But you'll have to talk to Lars and James about that. 'Cause Jason [Newsted] was technically a better bass player than Cliff. He was much tighter and faster and all this. Musically I don't know. Did he ever co-write any of the songs? He probably did on the later albums but they never really gave the poor guy a chance. Did they?

Not really.

I'm one of the few persons who heard the bass tracks on "…And Justice For All" and as far as I'm concerned they're absolutely killer. He did a really good job on that. He actually did most of it with Toby Wright, the assistant engineer. I'd kind of set up the bass sound and make everything ready and we'd run through the song. He'd play it and me and Lars would sit there and go, "Here you do this and here you do that" and stuff like that. Jason and Toby would spend the night and they'd go home and sleep and we'd listen to the bass the first thing when we came in the next morning. So we more or less worked around the clock. It was pretty intense.

The big complaint on "…And Justice For All" is you can't hear the bass.

I'd love to remix that album. I'm pretty sure the guys who did it [Thompson and Barbiero], I know they would love to mix it again. 'Cause they set it up and made it sound good and then Lars and James came in and f--ked it all up, hahaha.

Sembra da quel poco, uscita da Load.

 

A me non convince tanto, è molto diversa dagli altri singoli usciti prima...

 

Io invece sto iniziando a prendermi bene! Molto diversa non mi sembra anche se sono solo pochi secondi ma il ritmo semplice della strofa è per esempio come quello del bridge di moth. Credo che Lars si riferisse a questo quando parlava di canzoni più dirette e lineari e spero proprio siano così perchè questo è il tipo di ritmica e sound che preferisco.
Di load ci sento poco mi sembra più un suono black album un po più tirato e sporco e gli accenti della batteria anzi mi fanno venire in mente master.

 

Sembra ormai chiaro che sarà per molti aspetti un album migliore di death magnetic!!

E quindi sarà un grandissimo album!!

 

Per essere migliore di "Death magnetic" è sufficiente che sia discreto. Non è automatico che sia grandissimo, dato che hanno fatto conoscere al mondo solo due o tre canzoni.

 

Atlas Rise già l'avevamo sentita un bel po di tempo fa...

 

Chiaramente se a te DM non è piaciuto e un altro discorso.....

A me è piaciuto molto DM e se il resto di HTSD sarà come queste prime 2 canzoni sarà un grandissimo album!! Sempre secondo i miei gusti....

 

Le prime proiezioni di vendita per quanto riguarda gli States parlano di 230-260.000 copie nella prima settimana. Per i tempi che corrono sono numeri sontuosi; inutile fare paragoni con quelli del disco precedente perché negli ultimi otto anni nell'industria musicale è cambiato tutto, è come fosse passato un secolo. La brutta notizia è che uscirà in contemporanea con il nuovo album di Bruno Mars e questo potrebbe compromettere il debutto in cima alla classifica.

 

Le vendite dei dischi sono ormai da tempo concentrate nella prima settimana, dopodiché tendono a collassare in fretta; è un fenomeno legato all'hype generato dai social e vale per tutti.
Bruno Mars è famosissimo (26 milioni di followers su Twitter contro i tre e mezzo dei Metallica, per dire una cifra) e in più ha dalla sua il fattore streaming che adesso conta anche nella somma totale delle copie vendute.
