La recensione non specifica se il librone di 320 pagine sia in italiano o meno, ma ne dubito.
Il prezzo medio in rete si aggira sui 75 euro: viene inevitabilmente da chiedersi chi spenderebbe tutti quei soldi per un best of in 4 CD e un libro in inglese.
A me vengono in mente solo i collezionisti all'ultimo stadio dei Motorhead.

Però 59 euro è altra cosa rispetto a 75 (su EMP l'ho visto a 69 euro, da altre parti anche a 80-85).

Immagino che un libro scritto (probabilmente) in inglese non costituisca un grosso scoglio, per te.

 

Boh, questi cd per me sono inutili, ma al libro darei volentieri un'occhiata.

Un disco forse per alcuni aspetti simile che ho, e che invece ho trovato interessante è questo:

Tra l‘altro Medimops ora lo tira via per 18€ (e l’ultima volta che avevo controllato il prezzo ci aggiravamo sulle 3 cifre).

Ci sono state per fortuna comunque abbastanza uscite interessanti questi anni, per noi orfani di questa band, come i Leader of Down oppure gli Headcat 13.

Riprendo il post della morte di Eddie perchè oggi ho finito divorato la sua biografia. Una storia veramente, veramente, triste, triste, triste!
Una persona che caratterialmente era quel che era (e questo non ha aiutato), mettici l'abuso di droghe e sopratutto alcol (tipo furgoni per andare in tour che invece della strumentazione erano letteralmente pieni di vodka). Una storia sì rock 'n' roll ma piena di tenerezza (Mariko e Cookie), sopratutto gli anni successivi all'addio all'alcol (ovvero inizi '90). Una biografia eccellente che vale assolutamente il prezzo che ha e che ogni fan della band dovrebbe fare suo, se si ritiene tale. Dico band perchè vengono raccontate anche tutte le volte che Lemmy, Philty e Eddie hanno trascorso insieme dopo la fine della formazione classica (dalla reunion per i dieci anni con presenti Phil Lynott e i Twisted Sister ai piani di reunion classica degli anni 2000, con show divisi in due parti, uno con l'attuale e uno con Eddie e Phil, agli ultimi anni, ai regolari auguri di compleanno e Natale, al letto di morte a Londra di Phil Taylor e alla morte stessa in ospedale di Eddie).

4 giorni fa avrebbe compiuto 74 anni!

 

Qualche settimana fa, per la precisione per il compleanno di Lemmy (giornata da alcuni chiamata anche Vigilia di Natale) è stato caricato, un pò a sorpresa il sesto volume delle Löst Tapes. Dico a sorpresa perchè tra un Mikkey Dee che dieci anni fa sosteneva che tutto quello che avevano fatto i Motörhead, sia studio che live, era già stato pubblicato e le recenti anniversary edition del periodo 1979-1983, per non parlare della raccolta appunto dei primi 5 Löst Tapes pubblicata lo scorso febbraio:

sembrava che la cosa si fosse conclusa lì.

Invece ecco che "The Löst Tapes Vol. 6 (Live in Berlin 1992)" fa la sua apparizione e ne voglio parlare perchè vale, e tanto anche! Anzi, forse tra tutte queste chicche nascoste e tirate a lucide per le recenti pubblicazioni è, assieme a "The Löst Tapes Vol. 4 (Live in Heilbronn 1984)" la migliore.

Se il quarto volume era interessante infatti per la presenza di Pete Gill (ex Saxon) dietro le pelli, questa lo è perchè fotografa un momento della band davvero raro, Mikkey Dee era arrivato da poco più di 4 mesi e questa formazione (con Würzel e quindi ancora con le due chitarre) avrebbe poi dato vita al devastante "Bastards" per poi sciogliersi (in verità Würzel comparirà anche su "Sacrifice", ma senza voglia e contribuendo giusto con qualche riff e qualche assolo, era più fuori che dentro a quel punto).

Questa rara testimonianza live è inoltre bella anche e sopratutto per le chicche presenti, probabilmente perchè reduce del precedente tour con Phil Taylor (voglio spoilerare soltanto la prima visto che è quella che fa incominciare l'album, ovvero "I'll be your sister"; aggiungendoci il fatto che il batterista non è Phil Taylor, questa è veramente una cosa più unica che rara)! E come detto, non è assolutamente l'unica sopresa. La qualità audio poi è davvero eccezionale, incredibile pensare come un prodotto così sia stato tenuto nel cassetto per quasi 7 lustri, qua siamo quasi al livello di "No Sleep til Hammersmith" per quanto mi riguarda anzi forse è, Stage Fright escluso (che era un DVD) il miglior prodotto dal vivo con Mikkey Dee come batterista. Semplicemente una goduria come poche, tracklist/scaletta che è una sopresa dopo l'altra per un'ora e dieci che una volta finita non può che essere rimessa da capo e un album che credo rimarrà a lungo tra i miei scaricati di Spotify.

Manca tanto gente come Würzel. Senza compromessi!

Non lo so sai, a me non prendono molto queste registrazioni, magari le ascolto una, due volte e poi basta. Mikkey dee per me ha fatto il più bel drum solo che abbia mai visto, e a me i drum solo fanno abbastanza cagare. ma il suo era divino veramente.

 

Io definisco album o un disco concepito per essere tale o al più una raccolta assemblata con canzoni compositivamente inedite ed un filo conduttore. "Album perduto" un disco registrato, pronto per uscire, ma rimasto nel cassetto per anni per intenderci.
Qui mi paiono tutte canzoni edite anche se con una registrazione primordiale e differente.
Visto che (vado a memoria) non mi sembra che Lemmy ne parli nella sua bio, vorrei sapere se qualcuno lo sà se questo nelle intenzioni della band doveva essere effettivamente un album o trattasi semplicemente di dei provini venuti a galla e spacciati come "album perduto":
