A me è sempre sembrato che abbia un suono stranissimo e una velocità quasi "fuori tempo", però secondo me ci sta.
Il fatto che sembri veramente fuori tempo comunque non mi abbandona quando l'ascolto..

 

Ah... Non sono l'unico ad avere questa sensazione allora! Pure a me sembra fuori tempo, poi di sicuro non lo sarà e saremo noi a non capirci di batteria, però il risultato finale è fastidioso.

 

A me non risulta fastidioso ma..strano!
Poi si, non mi intendo di batteria quindi sbaglio sicuramente

Sono un fan accanito degli Elven', ma secondo me si sono contraddetti un po'.

Quando si separarono dal vecchio batterista dissero che in pratica li frenava un po' e che quello nuovo avrebbe consentito loro di fare il definitivo salto di qualità, adessa sembra quasi che Symohn fosse un po' fuoriluogo, fuoriposto, boh...

Secondo me la tecnica non è mai un problema, nè lo deve mai essere.

Semmai il problema è che loro non hanno un songwriting di livello così alto da permettere a Symohn di esprimersi al meglio e di amalgamarsi al meglio con il resto dei componenti.

 

Non ho capito, dici che sei un fan accanito e poi che non hanno un songwriting di alto livello?

Zender non è mai stato un virtuoso, ma se tu ascolti i vecchi dischi chissenefrega, sono talmente belli che non ci pensi, non c'è proprio bisogno di ostentazione tecnica in album capolavoro del genere e anzi potrebbe addirittura essere dannosa.

Symohn chiaramente era di un altro livello, e a parte l'inizio di King Of The Elves davvero fastidioso, per il resto mi piaceva parecchio anche lui. Io tra le righe ci leggo le classiche divergenze musicali, chissà, magari voleva spingere la band su lidi più tecnici mentre gli altri volevano "give our fans emotions and dreams exclusively".

 

beh.. il problema è che Symhon è troppo bravo per loro hihihihi

 

Hanno un songwriting molto buono, sicuramente ben al di sopra la media, però a quanto pare non abbastanza elevato da permettere a Symohn di esprimersi al meglio e di dare il giusto contributo alle canzoni.

 

Credo che abbiamo idee diverse di "songwriting elevato"... probabilmente chiami "elevato" ciò che io chiamo "tecnico".

Comunque album più atteso dell'album per me, mi aspetto un naturale proseguimento di The Pagan Manifesto, e a sentire Damna che parlava di un sound "oscuro", "epico", "maestoso" potrebbero continuare il discorso di un pezzo capolavoro come King Of The Elves!

 

ELVENKING ANNOUNCE NEW DRUMMER

ELVENKING are proud to welcome LANCS on their ranks as new drummer.
Those who have seen live the band in their European tour and Summer Festivals already experienced the solid drumming of LANCS, who is giving to the Elves the perfect rhythmic concept they were searching for the music.
LANCS has also recorded ELVENKING new album, back in May 2017, with only few weeks of notice in advance.

“We have asked LANCS to join as session drummer in our European tour only 2 weeks before the kick off. He was on tour with DGM at the time, and he studied all the 1,5 hour set in the tourbus” tells the band “He then jumped in our tour and we were all impressed on how he was nailing the songs every night!”
“Also we have entered the studio only one week after the tour’s end . We had all the tracks recorded in a good pre production form but LANCS recorded them in an incredible way and we cannot wait you guys to hear his drumming on the new album. It is simply overwhelming!”
