Terrana l'hanno allontanato un po' tutti, mi pare che i Masterplan dissero che si presentava spesso in ritardo e in condizioni non ottimali...

Non vedo l'ora di sentirlo!
La mia domanda è: ma ci sono molti pezzi veloci/speed?

Peavy sempre più tondo

 

La recensione promette benissimo, incrocio le dita!

 

Ascoltato tre volte, posso dire che non tirava fuori un disco così dal 1996. Finalmente "back on track" Peavy!

“…it’s my way or not way at all!”…and Io vorrei sapere se in fondo questa canzone si referisce in qualche modo al tuo rapporto con Smolski?

Si, un po', si. Non è di certo contro di lui, ma Victor stava tentando di spingere i Rage verso una direzione troppo progressive. Voleva far vedere quanto era bravo a suonare la chitarra. Tendeva quindi a fare troppi riff, troppi assoli [vocalizza assoli e ride n.d.a.], milioni di riff che portavano certamente da qualche parte, ma troppo lontano per i miei gusti…era anche bello, ma questo disturbava lo stile dei Rage che è qualcosa… si tratta di un metal onesto e diretto. Una sorta di power metal agressivo con parti vocali focalizzate sulla melodia e non sul growl o altro. Poi adesso ho il mio nuovo chitarrista Marcos Rodriguez che si adatta davvero bene allo stile dei Rage e rimanda proprio al nostro stile di metà anni ’90. Invece purtroppo con Smolski stavamo andando nella direzione sbagliata o meglio una direzione che a me non piaceva, ma a lui sembrava non fregare un gran che della cosa. Quindi è giusto che Victor faccia quello che creda, ma non nei Rage. Io ho una responsabilità nei confronti dei Rage perché li ho inventati 30 anni fa e le persone stesse ormai hanno in un legame con quello stile, quel modo di concepire il metal e la musica generale. Ho sentito lamentarsi molte persone che quelli non erano più i Rage per cui mi sono sentito in dovere di finire quel rapporto, ma nei suoi confronti non c’è nessun risentimento, semplicemente abbiamo preso due strade diverse e gli auguro in ogni caso ogni fortuna per i suoi progetti.

Refuge sign record deal with Frontiers Records

The German Powermetal band REFUGE around Metal icon Peter “Peavy” Wagner has recently signed a record deal with the Italian label Frontiers Records.
The Herne-based REFUGE, which consists of Manni Schmidt (guitars), Christos Efthimiadis (drums) and frontman/bassplayer Peavy Wagner, is the 1987 – 1994 line up of the German Metal institution RAGE. The former RAGE-members have teamed up again at the end of 2014 under the name REFUGE to play the old RAGE songs from their common time. What started out as a fun project, has since evolved into a very special band.
REFUGE-guitarist Manni Schmidt says: “When we played at a number of festivals last summer, we instantly realized that the chemistry was back. The shows worked out great and very naturally, there were ideas for new songs that we wanted to hold, because we liked them so much. Somehow the guys from Frontiers have heard about this and they offered us a deal. Peavy, Efthi and I are very thrilled to say that there will be a record released full of brand new songs by our band REFUGE!”
Frontman Peavy Wagner also points out that releasing a new album with REFUGE won’t clash with his other band RAGE: “REFUGE and RAGE are two different bands now. With REFUGE, we are able to play songs of the old era that have never found their way to a setlist of a RAGE-show. REFUGE also consists of different musicians – except me – who have different ideas and a different vibe. REFUGE is more like old school …. The fans will find out latest when they will hold the new REFUGE album in their hands.” About the signing with Frontiers Music Peavy says: “The members of REFUGE are looking very much forward to working with such a reknowned label as Frontiers Music. The company’s roster is impressive and for all I know, Mario, Serafino and their crew are behind the band to a 100%. I can’t wait to start working with them.”

Bello potente quest'album, non c'è che dire all'inizio davo Smolski vincente nella "gara" tra le due uscite, ora direi più che sono pari sinceramente (ognuno nel suo stile ovviamente).
