Warlord

L'unica cosa che promuovo incondizionatamente è il bonus footage di "70.000 Sorrows" tratto dal tour dell'anno scorso. Grezzo, genuino e fatto con pochi mezzi, ma con classe ed intelligenza. Questo sì rende giustizia alla band!!

 

Comunque mi pare debbano già entrare in studio per il nuovo album

 

Bene, é la seconda volta nella carriera che pubblica un falso live...
Francamente comincio a disprezzarlo x tutte queste operazioni, uscite numerate, edizioni limitate ecc.

Bene, perfetto... mi avete fatto capire che ho buttato nel cesso circa 20 euro di DVD

 

Visto quello che dite il DVD lo prenderò giusto per completismo...per fortuna i Warlord me li sono bootlegati per bene quando li ho visti live,come sostengo da sempre meglio un discreto bootleg che un ottimo(ma taroccato in studio)live ufficiale...

 

Ride, pensa che io, non stando più nella pelle e per evitare lunghe attese, ho fatto comprare il DVD direttamente da un conoscente greco e me lo sono fatto spedire con super urgenza .......

 

Ma ha taroccato solo l'audio o anche il video con la cgi?

A me N. Leptos piace molto...allì'headbangers han fatto un concertone.
Sulla descrizione del live? No parole. Almeno se lo rifate in studio fatelo bene...porca eva.

 

Ecco, diciamo anche questo: 'sto maledetto DVD lo sto ancora aspettando, porco giuda

 

Sono curiose (ma a pensarci neanche tanto) le reazioni dei fans sulla pagina FB della band: chi era presente al concerto lo critica pesantemente (come il sottoscritto), gli altri ne tessono lodi sperticate. Pare che in Grecia, vera e propria roccaforte per i Warlord, i "core fans" siano parecchio incazzati e delusi, c'è chi è arrivato a definire il DVD una presa in giro ....

 

L'amico che mi ha passato il DVD è stato al concerto del 2013 con me, e nonostante i rimaneggiamenti del video lo ha apprezzato comunque. Io... ancora devo trovare il tempo e il coraggio di vederlo. Temo una delusione

 

Un vero fan deve capire quando é il momento di non supportare la band. Farsi piacere tutto é come non apprezzare niente, le critiche ci stanno benissimo.

"I have been extremely disappointed and downcast after reading some of the fan reviews regarding the Warlord DVD. Of course, we wanted the DVD to be top of the line, and we spent a lot of time editing and mixing this project. All I can say to those fans who are not happy with the DVD because "the fan noise is not loud enough" is "I'm sorry this DVD didn't live up to your expectations." When we mixed in the fan noise (singing along with the songs), we listened to many live albums and decided that "the fans" would want to hear the music and watch the live performance primarily. I know how loud the fans were in Athens (I was there and we appreciated it beyond our expectations). No one could ask for a more devoted fan base. However, in making the DVD we thought that the fans would want to hear and see Warlord primarily. The fan chants are there and the interview at the end of the DVD was sufficient to include some of the most die hard fans. We owe everything to the fans, but I don't know what we could have done, especially when we discussed this topic with our engineer (who has done many live albums and film scores). It seems to me that there is nothing I can do to please the dedicated Warlord fan base. No doubt, you guys are the best and we didn't intend on offending you. We just wanted the music to be preeminent. It doesn't escape me that the fans that night were superb - the best fans in the world. Again, however, we made the decision to mix down the fans and let the music be predominant. No disrespect, but sometimes the fans were off key -- and, simply put, we just wanted everything to be mixed and mastered properly. There are many instances of fan chants that are emphasized in the proper place. Anyway, we never expected this type of criticism of the DVD. To those who aren't happy with the DVD, all I can say is "I'm sorry." Warlord is a band that wants to put out quality products. But the negative comment echo and echo and this hurts the band (sales).. I am currently working on a new Warlord album and I think (hope) that it will be satisfactory. I know that it's hard to please everyone, but we always try to put out the best quality products (though limited) that we can. I certainly don't forget the fan response that night - it is with me all the time and gives me great inspiration. But, again, when mixing the DVD we wanted the music to be dominant, so we lowered the fan noise. After listening to several live albums what I hear is the band during the loud parts and the fans interjected during the end of the song or during 'sing a long' chants. Honestly, to me it is an excellent DVD (for a band of our limited scope) and we worked very hard during the editing and mixing process. So it is disappointing and defeating to me to hear negative comments and bad reviews. Personally, when I watch a DVD I enjoy seeing the musicians playing their instruments to songs I love. This was the intent -- we never simply decided, "Let's drown out the fans." That never crossed our mind. Again, we were focused on the editing and mixing. So, a big SORRY to those who have been disappointed with the DVD. But again, the DVDs we consulted had pretty much the same ratio of "music to fan" mix. Thankfully, not everyone is disappointed. Ce' la vie. It is what it is, so hopefully you can enjoy it for what it is. To me, "disappointing the fans" is most deplorable and this is why the negative response has affected me so much. As you know, I am a 'perfectionist' so when things aren't satisfactory to the fans, it strikes me deep in the heart. I write this with great emotion and I hope to see more positive comments. I thought that just "watching and listening" to the band would be enough. It has always been enough for me when I go to concerts and see DVDs."

Sottoscrivo in pieno questo commento postato su FB, chiarendo che - secondo me - TUTTO l'audio è stato rifatto.
"I find it pretty funny that Warlord members are focusing on the crowd volume criticism and avoid mentioning the fact that half of the audio tracks are overdubbed. Which was my main concern about this release, and the reason I decided to speak up. I find it utterly pretentious and disrespectful to the fans to overdub such a legendary night. That is all I have to say."

 

Avevo letto il post di Tsamis e mi è sembrato abbastanza inutile.
Cioè, si è difeso, appunto, per il poco volume del pubblico citando altri concerti registrati, inserendo le solite frasi "siete i migliori fans al mondo", "è stata una notte fantastica" ecc. senza mai spiegare però il vero motivo della scelta.

Tralasciando il fatto che, come dice Silvan, la cosa più importante sono i ritocchi sui suoni della band (che oscenità se è vero), io se ascolto un live voglio sentire la folla che canta con il gruppo, voglio sentire i cori, voglio sentirmi partecipe dell'esibizione e della serata.
Ma come hanno fatto a non capirlo? Cos'è, torniamo ai tempi del Live Evil e simili?
