Scherzavo mi piaceva l'idea di chi si era ricomprato tutta la discografia x comporre la scritta e all'ultimo tassello se lo pigliava nel sedere

Zero fammi un favore: ma quale cazzo è l'ordine per fa comparire la scritta "Savatage"? A me ne mancano solo 3, quindi la scritta dovrebbe essere quasi completa, eppure non riesco ancora a capire

He says "Romanov: When Kings Must Whisper" about the 1917 Russian Revolution, is "about 75 percent done."
"Letters From the Labyrinth" is "probably 90 percent done, and "The Path of the Fairytale Moon" is just getting started.
At least one, O'Neill notes, has to be finished before the Wacken show, so "basically, whichever one gets done first" will be fast-tracked. Writing great songs is only half the battle; then you need to come up with the right vocalist to do the alchemy to bring it to life," O'Neill explains. "Basically we have all the [musical] tracks down, and we're going through the singers, and as we get the right singer for the right song, that goes in the can and the first one that's done gets turned in."

We're working on three TSO albums at one time right now. We've got Romanov we're recording, we've got a 'Gutter Ballet' thing that we're working on, and we've got this new thing called 'Letters from the Labyrinth' that we're working on. So that to me, three albums that are backed up right now, that's at least, in the Paul O'Neill world, that's at least four years worth of work.

I can't wait for the Romanov thing to come out, because it's dark. Paul and I wrote the majority of this stuff right around when Criss [Oliva] died. That's actually why I didn't go on the Edge of Thorns tour with them. I decided to stay and we were going to break in Zak, and I was going to write this thing with Paul, and that's what we were doing. We were writing Romanov during that period.
It was very fresh, and the music that we were writing for it was a lot darker and a lot more maybe Savatage-ish sounding than the stuff we ended up writing later on for TSO. So that's why I'm excited about it. Al Pitrelli and me, we're putting a lot of the basic tracks together down here in Florida over the last few months, and it comes out really good. Some really great songs on this album, I think. My personal opinion, it's by far the best TSO album. It will be the best TSO album in my eyes. It's very, very, very cool, and I'm very happy about it. It's coming out great, you know. We're working on it. We're working on the 'Gutter Ballet' stuff, which is the 'Streets' thing with its original title, which was 'Gutter Ballet'. And I've been working on some different versions of certain songs for that that are coming out great.
Paul and I, let's just record everything, and whatever we get done first will be the next record. We're on 120 mph every day, 'Boom boom boom, let's do this, let's do this', and we're just piling it up, getting as much done before this whole Christmas thing kicks in again. It's going to be quite amazing. You're going to enjoy it. So the future is very busy.

A sostegno dell'opinione di Jon su Romanov, invito chi non l'avesse ancora ascoltata ad ascoltare Winter Palace, tratta proprio da Romanov: a mio avviso suona come suonerebberro i Savatage oggi.

 

Spero il primo ad uscire sia Romanov. Il che avrebbe senso: Romanov a giugno ed il materiale natalizio successivamente verso natale.
Tuttavia, i lavori del secondo sono in stato più avanzato e mi sà che per Romanv ci sarà nuovmente da aspettare e tanto. Per quanto riguarda il Gutter Ballet della TSO mi pare, quindi, che non se ne parli per almeno (ad essere ottimisti) un anno e mezzo a questa parte.
Sia per quest'ultimo che per Romanov molto della riuscita (come del resto dicono anche loro) dipenderà della scelta dei cantanti. Se pezzi di valore assoluto come Believe li propongono con una voce come quella già utilizzata.. purtroppo non li vedo come particolarmente interessanti. Se, invece, punteranno su voci tipo quelle femminili con le quali le canzoni Sava, che hanno fatto in passato, non hanno sfigurato si potrebbe aver in mano qualcosa di valido. Essendo, però, il materiale di Streets incentrato su D.T. Jesus la voce portante indubbiamente sarà maschile... e quindi la speranza è che almeno in studio la parte sia ad opera di Jon. Per gli album natalizi personale interesse zero invece.

Come per altre band (vedi i Virgin Steele o i Blind Guardian) preferirei si concentrassero bene su un solo album alla volta e non due, tre o quattro assieme.

 

che io sappia l'errore di stampa c'è stato nella produzione del boxset,nel quale inizialmente mancava il live in japan e quindi la scritta era deformata...per non sbagliarmi ho preso il box nella sua edizione finale e confermo che la narrated version di streets serve perché è un pezzo della "E" finale della scritta....personalmente avrei preferito la prima raccolta al posto di streets e anche io non capisco il perché non abbiano seguito le uscite cronologicamente per fare il boxset,l'ho chiesto anche a quelli della label ma non mi hanno mai risposto(....questo problemino invece ce l'ho avuto con le ristampe degli Scorpions,non sono mai riuscito a capire,ne a trovare i pezzi mancanti per completare la scritta,ma poco male perché in quel caso i remasters non erano un granché...

Lo spero anche io, ma mi appare improbabile l'uscita di Romanov prima del Wacken Open Air, se queste notizie sono dell'ultimo mese e i lavori per l'album in questione sono (ancora) a 3/4 circa.
Non penso che nessuno dei progetti in cantiere sia natalizio, comunque, per quanto non credo si sappia nulla di Letters From The Labyrinth (titolo che ha sapore di Edge of Thorns).
Il dato di fatto però è che dovendo suonare al Wacken in piena estate, la scelta di una scaletta non natalizia sarà "obbligata": o Beethoven's Last Night o Night Castle o materiale nuovo (e, maliziosamente, ipotizzo qualche brano che i Savatage in 6 non possono cantare).

Vero, questo modo di procedere senza ordine sta portando a un album nuovo dopo oltre 5 anni dal precedente. Ma le prossime uscite saranno sicuramente più ravvicinate, se non annuali.
