gente che parla di Lulù quando ha scritto pezzi così:

e quando ha fatto dischi come VU, VU and Nico, White Light, Berlin, New York e Transformer.

Come che nessun dio della musica non abbia mai fatto dischi di merda.

Con la differenza che lui ha scritto una parte della musica rock.

In tutto questo, è bellissimo leggere certe cose

 

r.i.p....mai stato un suo fan accanito ma berlin e trasformer sono dischi scolpiti nella storia della musica rock

 

Mai piaciuto ed in alcuni frangenti mi è sempre sembrato sopravvalutato.

 

Le maledizioni lanciate dai fan dei Metallica sparsi per tutto il globo a quanto pare hanno avuto i loro effetti...
Parlando seriamente, grande artista, i dischi coi Velvet Underground son storia, mentre i suoi lavori solisti son sincero non li ho mai degnati di molti ascolti, prima o poi dovrò rimediare a questa lacuna. Ad ogni modo un altro grande che se ne va, questo 2013 ha fatto una vera strage.

 

Una mail scritta dal grande maestro Jim Steinman in ricordo di Lou Reed :

<<I'm truly devastated by Lou Reed's death. He was an iconic "feral" poet, to me. I never met him, but feel more depressed than when "bigger" names died. He was "one of those who paved the way", at least IMHO.

A great Lou Reed piece.......he had, in 1995, said that I "represented the future of rock n' roll"--he emphasized long almost classical styles, and I, to him, "great instinct for shaping and changing tempos." I saw hIm at a restaurant, Montrachet, where he was eating with Laurie Anderson. But I didn't ever approach him,:-( It's not well known that my FIRST choice for producer of BOOH was Bob Ezrin, based on what I saw as his brilliant work on Reed's BERLIN. But we couldn't "find him".
Thus, Todd was "discovered"!O:-)

"Away from the Factory, the Velvets and were all too ahead of their time, getting tossed out of clubs or having audience members walk out. The mainstream press, still seeking a handle on the Beatles and the Stones, was thrown entirely by the Velvet Underground. The New York Times at first couldn't find the words, calling the Velvets "Warhol's jazz band" in a January 1966 story and "a combination of rock 'n roll and Egyptian belly-dance music" just days later. The Velvets' appearance in a Warhol film, "More Milk, Yvette," only added to the dismay of Times critic Bosley Crowther.

"Also on the bill is a performance by a group of rock 'n roll singers called the Velvet Underground," Crowther wrote. "They bang away at their electronic equipment, while random movies are thrown on the screen in back of them. When will somebody ennoble Mr. Warhol with an above-ground movie called 'For Crying Out Loud'?"

YAYYYY! My song got mentioned by that old fart Bosley Crowther, Though it wasn't a song yet, and I had yet to write my first song which actually was "WHO NEEDS THE YOUNG". "For Crying Out Loud" came much later, in 1977........>>
