Immortal

Non conosco molto degli Immortal ma li rispetto profondamente come musicisti.
Ricordo quando un mio amico mi prestò Battles in the north...non avevo mai sentito nulla di così veloce e violento.

 

per me uno dei più grandi gruppi metal,a prescindere dalle etichette,di tutti i tempi.
Del periodo più black l'album migliore è senz'altro battles in the north,dell'ultimo periodo ATHOTW ,il pezzo migliore tra i tanti secondo me è "Years of silent sorrow" un vero concentrato dell'immortal sound,commovente per quanto è bello.
I dischi sono tutti ad altissimo livello,il meno bello è forse blizzard beasts che cmq.vale l'acquisto solo per la presenza della magnifica Mountains of might

 

Anch'io penso che blizzard sia il loro disco peggiore ancora di passaggio tra il loro primo e secondo sound a causa anche della dipartita di Demonaz, e sono sempre daccordo con te MOuntains...è sicuramente una canzone stupenda!!!!!!
Tutte le volte che scrivo in questo forum mi viene da piangere! Perchè vi siete sciolti maledetti!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

io ho solo at the heart of winter degli immortal e credo che me lo sentirò a ruota kuando riuscirò a riaverlo (gli l' ho prestato ad un mio amico ke se nn me lo ridà lo scuoio e mi appendo la sua pella a mo di poster in camera!) cmq sono spettacolari!

 

Cerca di recuperarti anche gli altri dischi, ne vale assolutamente la pena!

 

non è morto nel 99 e non suona lui su pure holocaust

 

ha partecipato solo alla cover di Pure Holocaust ed è morto il 14 ottobre 1999

 

Esatto, Erik "Grim" Brodreskift si suicidò il 14 ottobre '99. In realtà in Pure Holocaust la batteria non la suonò lui, ma Abbath: Erik suonò negli Immortal solo per la durata di un tour, poi abbandonò. Partecipò alla copertina di Pure Holocaust perchè Abbath e Demonaz volevano che gli Immortal sembrassero di più un gruppo, e non un duo (questo lo lessi in una intervista)...

 

i miei album preferiti sono pure holocaust,battle in the north e at the heart of winter..tra qsti tre il tanto criticato at the heart of winter,m piace moltissimo dall'inizio alla fine,ed è proprio la opener,Withstand The Fall Of Time,la mia preferita in assoluto degli immortal,altra canzone ke amo alla follia cmq è battles in the north..cmq d qsti tre album m piaccion tutte..m portano e m fanno respirare un'aria nordica in modo incredibile..eran grandi

 

li considero un ottimo gruppo
+ tosto sapete dirmi come mai si sono mollati?
Da voci ho sentito che abbath si era messo in contatto con i marduk…visto che hanno scacciato legion....

Ma Horgh in un'intervista disse qualcosa in più...


With the punishing new GRIMFIST release, Ghouls Of Grandeur, ready to
be unleashed at the end of September, ex-Immortal drummer Horgh spoke
with BW&BK to reflect on the situation about Immortal's sudden break
up.

Here is what he had to say to set the record straight, "You know, we
felt like doing different things. We are very proud of what we have
achieved with Immortal. But it was time to call it a day and we all
felt that it was the right decision to make. This was something that
we have been thinking about for a while. That people just got to know
about the split... it's just as it is, a special situation. But now
it's important for us to feel that we can relax and give ourselves
some time to think straight. We have experienced a lot with Immortal
and we came pretty far I think. I guess we could have taken Immortal
to a higher level... But I believe it is time for the members to do
something different."

With Sons Of Northern Darkness, many people called it the
Immortal triumph, and a new turning point for the band. How does
Abbath look upon this situation? Did he feel that he accomplished
everything he could with Immortal?

"I think he felt the same as I felt. It was pretty much the same,
we have thought about it, and it was the right thing to do something
different."

The speculation behind the fallout of the Metal Gods Tour...

"That had nothing to do with Immortal. I think it was the
economic part of it that was wrong. What I heard was that all the
concerts should have been sold out to keep it going. But that wasn't
happening. So it was an economic thing."

Favourite Immortal moment...

"I have very good memories. It's been so much fun, so many good
times that it's difficult for me to pick out one that is very
special. But I remember one trip, when we went to Athens and we
played this football stadium together with King Diamond, Manowar was
playing there as well, Sodom was playing... That was one of those
jobs we did that we always look back on, that it was a fucking great
gig! There must have been more than 10,000 people, but the atmosphere
of everything was cool! But like I said, it's very difficult to pick
one moment."

Favourite Immortal album...

"If I were to choose one... that is difficult I think, but I
really like the At The Heart Of Winter album. I would say, from my
point of view, At The Heart Of Winter. But I also love all the other
albums as well!"

What Abbath has planned...

"He is working with a project, I don't think he has a name for it
yet, but he is doing a 3-song demo. I haven't heard it myself though,
but I think it's black metal. He's doing it by himself, so far, but
he wants to put a band together. So it will be interesting..."

But as they say, you never know, never say never... Is there a
possibility of Immortal getting back together?

"At the moment, I can't say so because we have decided to split
the band. So I can't see it from here, that it's going to happen. But
as you said, never say never... but I can't see it now. So don't hold
your breath..."

fra un po' vorrei prendere un cd degli immortal. io ho pure holocaust. devo dire che mi piace ma ho ascoltato due traccie di battles e mi sono piaciute molto di più. però c'è anche at the heart of the winter che fa brutto...quale mi consigliate? e perchè? grazie

conosco Battles da diverso tempo, dato che lo ho masterizzato, ma tra qualche giorno mi dovrebbe arrivare il cd originale...non vedo l'ora di ascoltarmelo tutto quanto con il libretto davanti, fino ad arrivare a Blashyrkh e godere come un dio!!! uno dei pezzi black piu belli che abbia mai sentito!

 

t consiglio battles in the north,prima d prendere at the heart of winter..nn tanto xkè lo preferisca,xkè nn è cosi,anzi t dovessi direi quale ascolto + volentieri è proprio at the heart,ma dipende da ke periodo degli immortal vuoi scoprire..se vuoi il periodo x cui sn diventati leggende del black metal,allora spendi i tuoi soldi x battles,è su quello stile,se preferisci sonorità + thrashaggianti,motivo d tante critike inflitte ad abbath e soci,allora at theheart of winter è fantastico..cmq quasi tutti i lavori della band sn splendidi..a me at the heart of winter fa respirare atmosfere incredibili..cmq se vuoi gli immortal + puri x l'appunto battles in the northè ciò ke fa x te
