Come tutti sanno, o dovrebbero sapere, i Morbid non sono mai stati una vera band. Comunque dopo la stampa di “December moon”ci siamo quasi sciolto.Non so neanche perché, eravamo tutti molto diversi e non sapevamo come sarebbero dovuti suonare i Morbid. Il maggior mistero per me è stato capire perché sono cambiati tutti cosi tanto. Quando io e John formammo la band dicemmo che volevamo il Black Metal fatto come si deve, ma non fu mai cosi. All'inizio erano tutti d'accordo..poi...diciamo che la II demo non è come la prima. Ma perché stiamo parlando dei Morbid in una intervista dove non dovrebbero mai essere nominati? Ho parlato con Euronymus al telefono e a spiegato di come dovrebbe essere lo spettacolo più brutale del mondo, e abbiamo detto che oggi è tutto cosi normale, noioso e floscio.Ed eravamo totalmente d'accordo, dovrei andare e fare qualche prova, per vedere il mio inserimento nel gruppo. E penso che mi inserirei perché ho cantato sempre, i problemi sono arrivati dopo che non avevamo la sala prove

hai detto che Deathcrush verrà ridistrubuito, che ne pensi?
Vogliamo farlo, ma non sappiamo come permettercelo.È stato sbagliato rilasciarlo limitatamente, ora le copie vengono vendute ad un prezzo troppo alto,non era la nostria idea. Quelli che lo vogliono devono essere milionari, non rilasceremo più nulal di limitato con i Mayhem

Parlami dell'LP “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” quando uscirà?
Bella domanda..vorrei saperlo anch'io! Conterrà 8 tracce e sarà distribuito da D.S.P. come anti Mosh 003.quando la seconda edizione dell' LP Merciless verrà finita e pagata, la prossima band entrerà in studio (Imperator from Poland). Quando la loro 1° edizione sarà finita toccherà a quello dopo. Dopo il nostro tour,se non va a puttane, avremo una sessione dedicata a finire il materiale per l'LP, non posso dire molto altro.

COME DESCRIVERSTI UN CONCERTO DEI MAYHEM, CON TUTTI GLI EFFETTI?
Non abbiamo ancora tenuto un concerto vero e proprio, tre serate, una di quale con lo spettacolo completo.Abbiamo avuto qualche testa di porco impalata e mi sono tagliato con uno strano coltello e una bottiglia di Coca rotta.Avremmo dovuto avere una sega elettrica, ma il tipo che doveva darcela se n'è andato come siamo arrivato.Non è stato abbastanza brutale. La maggior parte della gente era composta di fighette e non vogliamo che assistano ai nostri concert! Prima ce cominciassimo c'erano 300 persone, ma nella seconda canzone “Necrolust” abbiamo cominciato a lanciare le teste. Ne sono rimasti solo 50!! Le fighette non malevole devono ascoltare la nostra musica (mah, secondo me c'è un errore NdT).Ci siamo divertiti parecchio a lanciarci le teste a vicenda.Mi sono arrabbiato con qualche idiota che aveva la testa in alto, quindi ho pulito il sangue dalle braccia ancora,Vogliamo spaventare quelli che non dovrebbero stare ai nostir cocnerti, dovranno correre alle usciti d'emergenza con parti del corpo mancanti, così abbiamo ualcosa da lanciare. Qualcuno imamgina per qualche strana ragione che il Death metal sia per tutti.Sfortunatamente hanno ragione... Se hai visto le immagini di band come i Defection, Benediction o Righteous Pigs etc.sai cosa intendo. Sei vai in una scuola qualunque, Sicuramente metà degli studenti indosserà maglie dei Morbid Angel, Autopsy e Entomed , ed ancora una volta vomiterò! Death Black Metal è qualcosa che i comuni mortali devono temere, non farne una moda!Qualche anno fa era totalmente inesistente.Quando i Morbid quasi nessuno aveva sentito qualcosa del genere prima. Metallica or VNA... ma spero che quelli che sono saltati sul treno del death metal lo lasceranno presto alla gente che l'ha sempre ascoltato . C'è voluto qualche anno per far passare le band HC alGrind. In minor tempo il Grind finì,e spero che non ci vorrà molto per lasciare il death metal a chi lo segue non per moda. C'è una ragione per lo stage. Le fighette non lo ascolteranno mai, e non glie lo spiegherò.ma si incazzano ed è questo ciò che voglio. Se a qualcuno non piace che gl vengano tirati sangue e carne marcia in faccia SI FOTTANO.ed è ciò che fanno.Stiano provando a far tornare la scena dov'era,quando nessun Death Metallers indossava merda della Adidas e sembrava norma. La sfida è ovviamente di portare cose dal mattatoio al concerto.

QUAL'È LA TUA OPINIONE SU SATANISMO E OCCULTISMO?
È un mio grande interesse!Però imparare la magia richiede troppo tempo. Bisogna conoscerne molto prima di lanciare qualche incantesimo sul vicubi. C'è bisogno di molto tempo, che non ho, specialmente ora. Sono più interessato alle leggende dell'est europa. Non sono conosciute qui, ma la gente ci crede ancora.Ogni castello ha una leggenda ed un passato sanguinoso, ed è ciò che mi ossessiona di più, vorrei vivere nei balcani.

QUALI SONO LE VOSTRE MAGGIORI INFLUENZE?
Iabbiamo preso un nostro stile,ma dall'inizio sono esistiti solo I Venom. Può essere ascoltato nel demo "Pure Fucking Armageddon" , quello che preferisco. Per quanto riguarda me, sono influenzato dai castelli dei Carpazi e dai Porfiriani

DIMMI QUALCOSA SUI TESTI...COME VENGONO FUORI?
Fin'ora ho scritto tutit i testi delle canzoni dopo"Deathcrush", "Funeral Fog", "Freezing Moon", "Buried by Time and Dust" and "Pagan Fears". Molti hanno a che fare col modo in cui mi sento quando le scrivo. È difficile da spiegare, e loro sono diverse fra esse.Posso spiegare "Funeral Fog",è un posto leggendario nei carpazi. Una palude chiamata Shurlock Basin su cui ci sono molte leggende e si crede che sia abitata dalle creature più strane.Ci ho pensato quando cominciai a scrivere quando è piena di nebbia, illuminata dalla lune.Questa nebbia appariva dalla terra, e si diradava disastrosamente portando via le vite degli abitanti.Facebdi arrivare le loro anime a Sataba "Pagan Fears" è l'ultima canzone che abbiamo fatto, è strana. Mi ricorda di "Chainsaw Gutsfuck" ma non così brutale. Comunque,il testo parla di un popolo che vive in una società barbarica, (Fucking Hell how I hate the word society, when it is used as a topic in lyrics, but of course I don't mention that word in "Pagan Fears"!) e l'udea,il passato non muore, ma rimane sbiadito nella realtà,e che non moriranno, ma rimarranno nel passato per infestare la mente della gente che verrà dopo.Il tempo esiste ed è eterno, quindi svanisce? Capiscono che rimarranno per sempre. È una strana idea che ho mantenuto finché non l'ho scritta.Non abbiamo cocnetti particolari nei testi, e non sono l'unico a scriverli. Prima era esclusivamente Necrobutcher, che mi ha detto come succedeva. Era semi addormentato, e di improvvisamente pensava ad un titolo.Doveva scriverlo in fretta.Dopo qualche minuto accadeva ancora ed ancora. Il giorno dopo provò a leggere qualcosa, ma non ci riusci perché mentre scriveva si ruppe la penna, ma da ciò che era intellegibile, uscì “Deathcrush”.la più difficile è quella che sarà la title-track "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". Il testo parlava di una straordinaria congrega maligna. Ma avrei dovuto cambiare molto del testo per farlo concordare con la musica, quindi abbiamo rifattola musica. Poi ho scoperto che il testo non era abbastanza malvagio, e non descriveva bene la forza enorme. Questa canzone ci ha impegnato tutti.

COM'È LA SCENA DEL DEATH BLACK METAL IN NORVEGIA?
In scandinavia non v'è una scena, o sono fighette o modaioli, e comunque coglioni, non venite qui!Me ne voglio andare

COSA PENSI DELLA GENTE CHE PARLA MALE DEI MAYHEM? CHE DICE CHE SIETE POSER A CAUSA DELLO STAGE SHOW?
Non sono interessato in ciò che dicevano, o ciò che vogliono dirmi.Facciamo ciò che ci piace ed è abbastanza per noi.

QUALI SONO I PIANI PER IL PROSSIMO FUTURO?
Una volta e per tutto niente andrà a puttane e faremo il primo tour all'estero che è stato rinviato per due anni del cazzi.Ci siamo andati molto vicini ultimamente, salvo scoprire che non v'era alcun concerto pianificato. È passato molto tempo da quando ho tagliato me stesso ed altri dall'ultima volta ed ho bisogno di un concerto.Abbiamo bisogno di suonare subuto.Speriamo che il nostro EP, rimandato, possa essere registrato pressi mo. Spero che la scena migliori e che la gente capisca che fighette e poser la stanno rovinando!

HI DEAD! HOW ARE THINGS GOING AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE "DEATHCRUSH" EP? DOES IT SELL WELL?
The "Deathcrush" EP is now a year old demo, which is not limited, and can still be ordered. We will sell it for around $5! This release was produced by us and is expelled only by us! If we had a commercial label in the background the songs probably would not have become as they are, never mind which one would have certainly not permitted us to use the front cover. Each who has a copy knows why... After Deathcrush we had a long period of reduced circumstances without photographs and appearances. We have our practice room now since April 1989 and a great equipment, now apart from the fact have also a place to live... Now we can begin to work hard on new songs to realize our plans for the future.

WHY HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR LINE-UP?
Well, actually we haven't changed it anymore... Only Manheim (ex-drummer) and Maniac (ex-singer) left after Deathcrush. I came in the summer 1988 and Hellhammer a few weeks later. Our line-up today: Dead-vocals, Hellhammer-drums, Necrobutcher-bass and Euronymous-guitars.

WHAT DO YOU THINK NOWADAYS ABOUT YOUR FIRST DEMO "PURE FUCKING ARMAGEDDON"?
Actually it still has the equally bad sound quality like at that time. In '86 when it came out and I heard it for the first time (I haven't sung on it yet) it was the roughest, noisiest and most destructive black metal work which I had up to then heard. From the demo we only play "Carnage" live and the title track. Before we also released "PFA" on vinyl, possibly a CD will be available. What comes certainly is a new edition of Deathcrush on lp with another cover. We will not use Posercorpse as we have founded our own label with "Deathlike Silence Productions" and also our next releases will come out through it. On DSP we will not only put our own albums out but also material of other bands. The first DSP release will be the "The Awakening" LP of Merciless from Sweden.

HOW IS LIFE IN NORWAY? TELL ME ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY.
As in every country you would also find people who would rather live somewhere differently. I would rather live in Transylvania! Also I'm no fucking Norwegian so it would probably be better if another one of us would answer this question. In Norway everything is very expensive and also the death metal scene is not very large. Here there are nearly no Satanic places, the blasphemy in the Christian church is not big very much and also the weather is crappy. I think France is better and much closer than the other European states (in comparison to Norway). Also I've heard there's many ancient castles there. I must look at them probably sometime...

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC LEAD YOU IN SUCH A WAY? DEATH METAL I SUPPOSE.
Bands I listen with pleasure are: Mantas and old Death/Necrovore, Azagthoth, Matricide, Immolation, Autopsy, Damnation, Merciless (Swe), Casbah, Necrophile, Deathspeed, Nausea, Imperator, Panic, Slashing Death, Merciless Death, Tormentor, Mutilated, Agressor as well as new things of Loudblast.

AH, YOU KNOW THIS MUTILATED. I THINK THEY ARE STUPID ASSHOLES WITH HYDROCEPHALUS. DO YOU ALSO THINK SO?
Mutilated are musically ok, however, I don't know them personally therefore I can't say nothing more. Somebody had told us that supposedly they sometimes don't answer letters. Do not ask me please which between them and the French audience has run off.

YOU PLAN TO MAKE A NEW LP. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT?
We hope in March 1990 to go to the studio to record our "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" LP. When it comes out and we enter into the studio will be dependent on possible offers of live appearances. Hopefully it will still be this year what with 20 to 30 gigs in Russia and if nothing more comes afterwards then we can go to the studio in March. The title "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" comes from a book about spirits. Spirits of meat and blood and forces a normal human brain cannot introduce. Apparently only one copy exists, however, I'm still trying to find another copy. I can now however say which songs will be on the LP: Carnage, The Dark of the Freezing Moon, Buried By Time and Dust, Funeral Fog, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, a song which we call "When the Vultures Left" and a song that right now has no title. That makes 7 songs however we want to release 10 on the LP, therefore we must write 3 more. We also have 4 songs on Deathcrush and a few which we have written in Russia. There are certainly differences with the new songs in contrast to Deathcrush, however, for me they are the same kind as the old ones. They are somewhat longer with some solo parts. We have everything that concerns with technology, since what we've learned, however, it still has the same "death" like it did at that time.

ARE YOUR LYRICS FUNNY OR CONNECTED RATHER WITH REALITY? LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEW TEXTS...
Nearly everything is written by me and I also take it very seriously, since I think I am moved by horror. I am moved after ancient, nearly forgotten legends about pure bad, lonely castles in the Carpathia, in Transylvania..... myths so old, but in Transylvania are still alive... -Black Metal

YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE!
I do not talk gladly about the future. I rather live in the past. It is hard to do predictions when everything goes so slowly. What will we do after the release of the LP? Indeed, we have many plans, however, our largest goal is the tour with matching planning: Eastern Europe (as a whole), many places in the west (it is not yet fixed however I think France is present), South and North America, and maybe still Canada and Asia. I would play anywhere if one invites us. We only want to play in the "sickest" places where everything by Communism are blocked and no tourists ever come. That's all I can say right now.

Io ho quella del '94 e la trovo abbastanza rivedibile! C'è molto di meglio, dal mio punto di vista, in campo black, anche Chimera è meglio! L'unica gemma di De Mysteriis, dal mio punto di vista, è Freezing Moon, testo "fanciullesco" a parte!

 

Io non riesco proprio a scegliere una canzone in particolare..Parto con Funeral Fog e finisco con la title track..

"Buried by Time and Dust" assolutamente MOSTRUOSA. Attila impagabile.

Infatti ho specificato che è un mio punto di vista! Per me è molto meglio un qualsiasi album degli Emperor o degli Immortal! De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas per me ha avuto più influenza "mediatica" che altro! L'unica vera particolarità dell'album sono le vocals di Attila!
