Ahahaahahah non vedo l'ora che ci sia l'annuncio ufficiale, così potremo ringraziarlo per la sua profezia!
Comunque, se proprio vogliamo essere pignoli, di Mangini ho scritto io qui vari giorni fa, a fine Marzo.

non s'è più visto eh? sotterrato dalla vergogna?

a meno che non abbiano ingaggiato Peter Wildoer...in quel caso il growl è assicurato!!!!

 

Mo' però basta! Ok, è ridicolo anche solo pensare che Portnoy possa rappresentare un punto di arrivo però basta davvero parlare male di lui solo perchè viene sopravvalutato da tanti fanboys! Dici che non è una pippa totale ma in realtà non è proprio una pippa, anzi, è un ottimo batterista! Ha dei pregi e dei difetti (come chiunque, anche nella musica, prova ad ascoltare Peart suonare jazz e ti verrà l'orticaria), tecnicamente ce ne sono altri che stanno spanne sopra ma poco importa, Portnoy sa suonare (e dico proprio suonare, non solo eseguire), e anche bene le cose che suona normalmente! Mi pare davvero eccessivo continuare a dire "Portnoy di qua", "Portnoy di là" perchè anche quando si cerca di indorare la pillola viene sempre fuori che Mike ha più difetti che altro! E mi pare davvero eccessivo perchè in ogni caso si parla di un professionista serissimo che ha sempre preso sul serio il suo ruolo e il suo lavoro e, per quanto non sia progredito granchè tecnicamente in 25 anni, per lo meno in studio e soprattutto dal vivo non ha mai fatto mancare questa professionalità eseguendo sempre i brani come dovevano essere eseguiti e se pigliate un qualsiasi live dei DT (o dei Transatlantic o di qualsiasi altro progetto a cui Portnoy ha preso parte) vedrete e sentirete che è così!

 

E' quello che intendevo dire
Era un po' come dire: se andiamo a criticare Peart per l'ineleganza, allora per altri, altrettanto scomposti, è finita. Invece, per fortuna, ci sono altre doti.
P.s.: il lavoro di Mike nei Transatlantic mi piace moltissimo (anche se a volte dovrebbe picchiare un po' meno :P)

Dream Theater have been extremely sensitive to the fact that this is not only a monumental decision in their own lives, but also a critical moment in the lives of DT fans around the world. “The departure of our lifelong bandmate and friend was an unexpected and truly heartbreaking blow,” says guitarist John Petrucci. “The fact that as a result of that event we’d be introduced to seven infinitely capable and uniquely talented drummers was heartening.”

mio modestissimo parere portnoy nei dream theater è perfetto,non è un session man,un vinnie colaiuta del caso..ne a livello attitudinale ne tantomeno a livello tecnico ,ma le cose che fa le fa egregiamente imho..quindi in sostanza quoto il tuo intervento
