Togliamo la n. 32. Under a Glass Moon

 

Ho riascoltato Systematic Chaos....me lo ricordavo decisamente peggiore...sì ha il difetto di esser "slegato", ma i pezzi presi singolarmente non sono malaccio..

In The Presence Of Enemies (entrambe) fanno riscoprire un'anima DT che riporta ai fasti (e che in BC&SL in pezzi come il Conte Toscano o il break di ANTR è ancora più marcata)...mi riferisco a parti come l'assolo melodico della part I° o il riff dopo il primo ritornello della parte II°

The Ministry Of Lost Souls è un mix tra Octavarium e FII...gusto melodico enorme (ritornello e soprattutto preritornello sono tra le parti migliori dell'album), intermezzo forse un po' piatto ma non come altre canzoni..un assolo finale semplice lineare ma altrettanto ispirato

Repentance : ipnotica, coinvolgente...con un altro assolo ultramelodico...forse si trascina un po' troppo nel finale, ma credo sia cosa voluta

Forsaken : forse ricorda un po' troppo gli evanescence, ma è infarcita di assoli azzeccati, un Pre-Chorus efficace ed un Chorus un po' ripetitivo ma tutto sommato non pesssimo

Prophet Of War : potrebbe esser il tipico B-side di una band normale

Constant motion e TDEN : la prima ha nell'irruenza la sua arma, la seconda (che preferisco) l'ho riscoperta di recente...se non fosse per Portnoy che "stona" tutti i versi lo considerei proprio un bel pezzo...con la parte strumentale che porta indietro ai tempi di The Dance Of Eternity
