Sonata Arctica

A Febbraio tour acustico in Finlandia, ormai l'unico modo per fare un concerto decentemente:

 

acoustic adventures almeno non devono più suonare praticamente, fanno la versione triste di liimatainen e kotipelto

 

Non esiste al mondo band capace di mettermi tristezza al minimo accenno come questi qua.

 

Annunciato anche il tour europeo e passeranno anche l'Italia, la guest a sto giro non centra nulla:

 

ormai tra in flames e sonata arctica quel teatro lì sta attirando le cose peggiori

 

Già il nome non è che sia beneaugurante

 

Un tour acustico? Ma un disco nuovo?

Sonata Arctica announce new studio album "Talviyö", out September 6th and release new single and lyric video "A Little Less Understanding" today

On September 6th, Finnish melodic metal titans SONATA ARCTICA will release their tenth studio album, called »Talviyö« (which means »Winter Night«), including eleven new tracks.

"We were talking about having an album cover made from a photo and luckily managed to find this award winning photographer Onni Wiljami who actually hails from a village not too far from our hometown and his pictures were just perfect for this album", explains keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg.

"The idea was to create an album that is musically in line with at least the previous two albums", says vocalist Tony Kakko and adds: "I am very happy with the songs and the general mood of the album. Some career highlights there, I feel."

"We recorded a bunch of kick ass songs and tried some new stuff as well. I'm really proud of how we managed to record the band sounding more live, playing together instead of just tracking everything one by one", states Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg.

Today, SONATA ARCTICA release their first single called 'A Little Less Understanding', along with a lyric video.

"The song is lyrically somewhat a follow up for ”I Have A Right” and talks about the difficulty of making the right choices with the upbringing of a new human being", explains Tony Kakko.

»Talviyö« was recorded between September 2018 and May 2019, produced by Mikko Tegelman and SONATA ARCTICA in 'Studio57'. Additional recordings took place in various other places. "Mikko produced the album and he really managed to push us to do our best, even with the more experimental stuff. Working with an outside producer was the biggest new thing we tried this time", says Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg.
The mixing was done by Mikko Tegelman and Pasi Kauppinen and the mastering was handled by Svante Forsbäck for 'Chartmakers'.

 

Canzoncina che potrebbe essere presa da Pariah's Child, speriamo ci sia anche qualcosa di meglio nell'album

 

Niente di che, anche se non è brutta.
La riascolterò.

 

Magari fosse come quelle di Pariah's Child (che ritengo sempre un grande album).
Non mi dice nulla questo brano, le atmosfere mi piacciono perchè ricordano anche qualcosa di The Ninth Hour, però il sound è sempre ovattato e ultra soft e mi sembra manchi la melodia principale.
Comunque non mi aspettavo il disco nuovo, tutto molto in sordina e comunicato dal nulla

 

Anche io non mi aspettavo un nuovo album, anche se sono già passati 3 anni da The Ninth Hour. L'album precedente mi era piaciuto, spero che si confermino con questo nuovo disco.
D'altronde anche il primo singolo di The Ninth Hour non era granché..

 

Tony l'aveva già annunciato l'anno scorso che il nuovo album sarebbe uscito quest'anno.
Riguardo la canzone, roba da radio, di più non possono fare in sede live.
