che siano performance uniche, nella loro bruttezza, è praticamente certo.
roba che neanche gli Spinal Tap...

 

Non hai tutti i torti, ma credo che vada oltre il de gustibus anche la bontà dell'ultimo Gambling with the devil

 

Mah guarda, io l'ho ascoltato decine di volte e non riesco a trovarci uno spunto che sia interessante e un marchio di fabbrica proprio della band. Sai benissimo come la penso a riguardo, a mio parere gli Helloween sono rimasti un gruppo con una propria identità musicale e con una propria personalità fino a The Dark Ride compreso, gli ultimi tre continuano a sembrarmi troppo stilizzati e composti "a tavolino".

La perdita di Kusch e di Grapow e il conseguente "stravolgimento" a livello di sound si sente lontano un miglio. Se poi riuscite ad apprezzare anche il nuovo corso tanto meglio per voi e peggio per me che non riesco a farmi piacere determinati album. Però per me suonano troppo canonici, non riescono proprio a convincermi (Gambling incluso).

 

Allora in tutto è questione di gusti, fidati

Secondo me con una produzione diversa Gambling certamente ti sembrerebbe più vicino ai lavori anni '90.

Devo ammetterlo, io cambierei volentieri il produttore Charlie Bauerfiend...la sua produzione non è adatta agli album degli Helloween che dovrebbero averne invece una più tendente al rock.

personalmente considero senza dubbio pink bubbles e chameleon di gran lunga i dischi migliori degli helloween dagli inizi fino ad oggi..poi chiaramente adoro anche tutti gli altri, con eccezione di poche canzoni..

non sto a dire che la mia interpretazione dev'essere la migliore, però credo che comunque, limitandoci a chameleon, abbia un sapore unico

gambling ho detto tante volte che mi piace da morire, però sicuramente è molto discutibile..pur essendo certo il miglioramento o meglio, la conferma degli alti livelli del gruppo

 

Per me la più brutta dell'album.

Le atmosfere hard rock in Master Of The Rigns erano fantastiche.

Hello to all Pumpkin Maniacs!

We deeply apologize the weeks of silence - which were weeks of insecurity for us - about the bands European label situation and the release date of the long awaited “UNARMED – Best-Of 25th Anniversary” album.

Thus we are proud to finally announce that we have teamed up with SONY MUSIC in coop. with SPV, to release our upcoming records!

We also want to use this opportunity to welcome the highly motivated team of SONY MUSIC in the world of Helloween and it´s fans!

Release dates of “UNARMED – Best-Of 25th Anniversary”:

December 16th, 2009 - Japan & Southeast Asia (JVC/Victor)
January 29th, 2010 - Europe (SONY/SPV)
The release dates for the American continent will be announced soon

“UNARMED – Best-Of 25th Anniversary” is a big ‘thank-you’ to all our fans, old and new all over the world! Instead of putting together a regular greatest hits compilation featuring our most successful tracks to celebrate this anniversary, we completely rearranged and rerecorded the greatest songs and melodies of our career.
Together with our tried and tested producer, Charlie Bauerfeind, we invited many great musicians to guest on this special record, with the doubtless highlight of having the 70-piece Prague Symphonic Orchestra performing "The Keeper´s Trilogy", a 17 minute medley consisting of the songs "Halloween", "Keeper of the Seven Keys" and "The King for A 1000 Years" - goose bumbs guaranteed!

UNARMED – ALBUM ARTWORK UNVEILED!


The artwork for the forthcoming Anniversary Best-Of was once more made by Martin Haeusler who was already in charge of THE LEGACY and the GAMBLING WITH THE DEVIL artwork. The photo shooting took place at a salt-lake near Los Angeles and a detailed making-of story will be featured here soon....

UNARMED will also be released in a limited version with a very special Digi-Pack, incl. a 30min. making-of DVD, containing interviews and studio footage....also available will be a double Vinyl version!

 

Ma guarda, sto riascoltando Gambling, e più che un discorso di produzione ne farei un discorso di differenze a livello ritmico (Kill It con Kusch alla batteria sarebbe stata una bomba e ben più tirata missà), di velocità di esecuzione (di fucilate alla Before The War, Steel Tormentor, We Burn, per dirne tre, non ne sento), di solidità di strutture (The Dark Ride e Mrs Torture sono molto più quadrate di qualsiasi cosa ci sia in Gambling, imho).

A me questo "Best..." intriga parecchio. Avrei eliminato una Future World per una How many tears, ma va bene. Tra l'altro l'entrata della Sony è un gran colpaccio. Spero per gli Helloween che lavorino bene e non facciano come la EMI ai tempi di Pink e Chameleon.

 

Questa è sempre stata una cosa che ho apprezzato tantissimo degli Helloween era Deris! E comunque io gli ultimi dischi li trovo comunque godibili, magari non nella loro interezza, magari qualche passo falso in eccesso, ma comunque godibili e meritevoli di un ascolto...
